Cars could soon be more expensive again as tariff-loving Trump warns automakers they’re next come April

President Trump and Howard Lutnick, the likely U.S. commerce secretary, are preparing to bypass Congress and hike tariffs unilaterally on new imported sedans and SUVs that could hurt Japanese, Korean and European brands most of all.
