Wembley’s About To Witness A Massacre: Dubois Exposes Chisora’s ‘Guarantee’

Journeyman Dereck Chisora says he “can guarantee” that he’ll fight IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois at Wembley.

Promoter Eddie Hearn doubts whether Dubois will fight Chisora next because he’s got better options available to him against Oleksandr Usyk or Joseph Parker. Going from beating Anthony Joshua to defending against Chisora is a big drop-off for Daniel, just when his popularity rises.

Fans don’t believe Chisora, 41, deserves a title shot, given that he only had to defeat fringe contender Otto Wallin and 39-year-old Joe Joyce to become the IBF mandatory. There are so many more deserving fighters that rate a world title shot instead of Chisora.

Staging a Disaster

Still looking beat up around the face from his last fight against fringe contender Otto Wallin last February, the warhorse Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs) claims that it’s going to happen against Dubois, and he’s already planning his ring entrance.

It’s unclear what importance that would have for fans, as it’s superficial nonsense trying to make cosmetic changes in a useless attempt to hide the true nature of a flawed product. Placing this eyesore fight at Wembley Stadium is asking for trouble because it won’t sell out the 90,000-seat stadium.

“I can guarantee that the fight with Daniel [Dubois] is going to happen in Wembley,” said journeyman Derek Chisora to Sky Sports Boxing, stating that he’ll be challenging IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois at Wembley, but failing to say if it’s at the 90,000-seat stadium or the 12,500-seat arena.

“I’m planning the whole ring entrance in my head right now. I’m not training yet, but I’m working on it, the entrance, the showman.

Chisora says it’ll be the last fight of his career, but few boxing fans are naive enough to believe that. If he’s even slightly competitive, he’ll continue his career as a B-side opponent for someone.

As long as millionaire Chisora is used as a headliner, he’ll continue fighting. This retirement stuff that he’s talking about now sounds like a classic ‘Going out for business’ tactic that stores use to attract customers who understand what the term actually means. It’s not ‘Going out of Business,’ it’s ‘Going Out for Business.’

“I don’t see him fighting for the world heavyweight championship next anyway, but who knows Good luck to him,” said promoter Eddie Hearn to the Stomping Ground about having his doubts about Derek Chisora fighting Daniel Dubois for his IBF heavyweight title next.
