Schofield Vs. Farmer: DAZN PPV On June 28

Floyd Schofield vs. Tevin Farmer will be battling on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. next month on Saturday, June 28. Schofield Sr. was in a bragging mood today, announcing the news of the Schofield-Farmer fight, telling his followers, “We’re stepping up.”

Schofield-Farmer Fight Announced

The event will be shown on DAZN PPV from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The price is unclear, but it must be reasonable to lure hardcore boxing fans to purchase the event on pay-per-view.

It is a step up for the unbeaten lightweight contender Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs), but not enough of one to erase the memories of his pulling out of his title fight against WBC champion Shakur Stevenson on February 22nd.

The former IBF super featherweight champion Farmer (33-8-1, 8 KOs) has lost his last three fights against William Zepeda x 2 and Raymond Muratalla. However, they were competitive matches, and some boxing fans believe Farmer deserved the decision in his two fights against Zepeda.

Schofield, 22, looked beatable in his last fight in June against Rene Tellez Giron. He took a lot of hard shots and was dropped in the 11th by Giron. Based on that performance, you’ve got to give Farmer, 34, an excellent chance of defeating Schofield.

If Schofield loses this fight, he’s going to need to rebuild his career from the ground up, because this is a match that he’s supposed to win. I doubt that he will because he looks like another fake hype job.

“I can announce it now. It’s official. Schofield vs. Farmer, for real, and it’s going down” said Floyd Schofield Sr. on social media, talking about his son, Floyd Jr’s fight against Tevin Farmer next month on June 28th. “Y’all can’t front like this ain’t a good fight, and y’all can’t front like my son ain’t stepping up.

Will Farmer Expose Schofield?

Schofield Sr. needs to put a sock in it. His son could get exposed by Farmer because he has too much talent, power, and skills for the prospect.

“Hasn’t fought since November, and is now going straight in the ring with a two-time world champion,” said Schofield Sr. “And don’t act like Farmer’s fights with [William] Zepeda wasn’t close like that first one he didn’t win, and that second one wasn’t real close.

“Either way, we’re stepping up. We’re fighting a good champion, a person that can really box. Y’all got to put respect on the names of these two fighters. Y’all can’t act like this is a wack a** fight,” said Schofield Sr.
