VIDEO: Oleksandr Usyk – A Great Heavyweight Legacy!

Oleksandr Usyk has been on one hell of a run since making the jump up to heavyweight.
This past weekend, Usyk looked spectacular in his rematch against Daniel Dubois. Usyk made it look even easier than he did last time these two faced nearly two years ago. Usyk dominated the action from start to finish, and he stopped Dubois in round 5.

The victory technically made Usyk a two-time undisputed world heavyweight champion, although that is really just a technicality. Usyk never lost the IBF belt in the ring, he lost it because of alphabet politics. With the victory over Dubois, Usyk is now universally recognized as the one and only heavyweight champion by all four alphabet bodies. He is also the reigning Ring Magazine heavyweight champion, and he also holds a rightful claim as the lineal world heavyweight champion, which dates all the way back to John L Sullivan.
Usyk has only fought eight fights against five different opponents since he moved up after he conquered the cruiserweight division, where he was also undisputed. Indeed, Usyk has had six title fights at heavyweight, where he only had three different opponents. Usyk holds a pair of impressive victories over Anthony Joshua, another pair of impressive victories against Tyson Fury, and now he has beaten Dubois twice as well. What is most impressive about this is the fact that, when making the jump up, Fury and Joshua were widely regarded as the two best heavyweights on the planet, and Usyk beat them both twice.
Oleksandr Usyk is carving out quite a nice heavyweight legacy for himself, despite having just eight fights in the weight class.
This edition of Rummy’s Corner will provide opinions about Usyk’s career to date, with a strong focus on his ledger in the heavyweight division. Please watch and enjoy the video for one man’s opinion. This is Rummy’s Corner (produced and narrated by Geoffrey Ciani).
