Farmer To Schofield: “It’s Personal Now”

Tevin Farmer says it’s “personal” now due to all the talking the “Schofield boys” have been doing since their fight was announced for June 28th. Farmer warns Floyd Schofield Jr. (18-0, 12 KOs) not to “turn” his back on him during their 10-round fight like he did last November against Rene Tellez Giron in Las Vegas.
Farmer vs. Schofield will be fighting on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The event will be shown live on DAZN PPV.
Tevin (33-8-1, 8 KOs) was selected as the opponent for unbeaten lightweight contender Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) despite having lost his last three fights to William Zepeda x 2 and Raymond Muratalla. It was the way Farmer made those fights close that got him the Schofield clash. It shows you that it pays to fight hard.
Farmer’s Warning Shot
“I was going to play it cool. Train, see you at the fight type of thing. I was never the type to get on Instagram and talk s*** or Twitter. But you Schofield boys have made it real personal because y’all talking too much, and people are sending me your interviews of you talking s*** like crazy. It’s personal now,” said Tevin Farmer on social media, reacting to Floyd Schofield Sr. announcing their fight last week for June 28th on DAZN PPV.
Farmer will have to fight harder against Schofield than he did in his last two contests against William Zepeda. It’s not going to end well for Tevin if he just moves, holds, and lands an odd punch here and there.
If Farmer’s goal is to win, he will need to throw a lot more punches. It looked like he was just trying to steal rounds and survive in his last fight against Zepeda. He could have won that fight if he had strayed in the pocket more against William.
“Bro, I ain’t Rene [Tellez Giron]. That pressure he put on you. You’re turning your back. Don’t do that s*** with me. I ain’t none of these [people] you used to. I’m a different type of animal. I’m from Philly. I’m a different type of animal, my boy,” said Farmer.
Schofield looked really bad against Giron, turning his back, getting hit a lot, and dropped in the 11th round last November. That was supposed to be an easy fight for Schofield, but he struggled the entire night. Many fans believe Giron exposed Floyd Jr. as being a hype job.
