Terence Crawford Lands In Las Vegas For Canelo Alvarez Press Conference

Terence Crawford landed today in Las Vegas with his trainer, Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre, days away from their press conference with Canelo Alvarez this Friday, June 27th, at the T-Mobile Arena.

Crawford Arrives in Vegas for Canelo Presser

It’s the second meeting between Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) and undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo (63-2-2, 39 KOs) after their New York press conference last Sunday. Alvarez shoved Crawford during the face-off, prompting security to separate the two.

Some people believe that the push from Canelo was in response to criticism that he’d received for having dinner with Crawford and Turki Alalshikh several nights before. It gave fans the impression that these are friends, and their fight is just a non-sporting money-grab on September 13th on Netflix.

Canelo-Crawford are going to have to keep up the animosity between them to create buzz. Just the fact that Crawford is jumping up two weight classes after his razor-close victory over Israil Madrimov in his debut at 154 is enough for a lot of people to see this as just a money fight.

Benavidez Sr. Predicts Lackluster Crawford Fight

Jose Benavidez Sr. predicts that it’s going to be a lackluster fight, saying Crawford will “move and move” all night to avoid getting hit by Canelo. He says this fight will be similar to Canelo’s clashes against William Scull and Jermell Charlo.

“Crawford is a little guy. He’s coming up two divisions to fight Canelo. You think he’s going to go toe-to-toe with Canelo?” said Jose Benavidez Sr. to Fight Hub TV. “Crawford is a good fighter, but that’s too much weight for him. So, he’s going to try to survive and move around.”

Benavidez Sr. is right. Crawford won’t stand and fight because that’s never been his game during his career. The times that he has stood and brawled were against slower fighters, and ones who were washed.
