Canelo Alvarez Roasts Terence Crawford: “Fought With Nobody” – Explosive Press Conference

Canelo Alvarez roasted challenger Terence Crawford with some of his comments during today’s press conference at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Canelo: “Not on My Level”

Undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo (63-2-2, 39 KOs) continued with his theme that Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) has fought no one notable during his 17-year pro career. He said the only reason Terence has looked “great” is because he’s “fought with nobody.” No lies were told here.

The only thing Crawford, 37, could say is that he fought Errol Spence, which the boxing public didn’t give him credit for because it came after Errol’s terrible 100 mph car crash in 2019. Canelo had a field day today, letting Crawford know that he’s not on his level.

Terence Crawford: “Watch when I walk you down when you are supposed to be the bigger man,” said Bud during today’s Las Vegas press conference.

Canelo Alvarez: “Hey, you say that because you fought with nobody and you obviously look like a great fighter [when you’re fighting lesser opposition].”

Outdated Wins: Burns, Gamboa

Crawford’s fans on social media tried to defend him, pointing out that he’d beaten Ricky Burns and Yuriorkis Gamboa during his career. Those fights occurred 11 years ago in 2014, and they don’t even count at this point.

The reality is that Crawford hasn’t built a resume to deserve to be fighting for a world title against Canelo at 168. He’s getting the fight because of Turki Alalshikh, but he doesn’t deserve it like the fighters in the division, like Diego Pacheco and Christian Mbilli.

Crawford’s Resume

– Ricky Burns
– Yuriorkis Gamboa
– Errol Spence: Post car cash
– Shawn Porter
– Jose Benavidez Jr

Crawford was supposed to come better prepared for this press conference than the previous one, as he didn’t have much to say. Today, Crawford was like a broken record, repeating himself and losing his temper when he was asked questions that were somewhat similar by the different media members. Rather than using a different answer, Crawford sounded like a parrot, saying he’s going to be “on Mount Rushmore”  after he beats Canelo.
